Mobile virtual network operators who use Optus’ network can now offer eSIMs to consumers, announces mobile network provider Optus.

Netcracker Technology announced that T–Mobile has extended its BSS and managed services partnership for its wholesale business, which includes the MVNO and IoT markets.

Singtel Optus has become the first to offer access to a 5G mobile service to its wholesale postpaid partners, with the telco announcing on Monday that all mobile virtual network operators who resold its offering could enable and buy its 5G services.

With top of the line smartphones costing anywhere from $1500 to $2500 and beyond, and with smartphones lasting longer than ever thanks to OS and security updates, safely buying second hand via the security of a refurbished model can be a totally smart saving.

MVNOs have been successful on price, value and growth, but even as major telcos fight back with contracts to buy iPhone X, Note 8 and others, the threat of TPG's upcoming new network means continued growth will need true innovation and value, and not price alone.
