Roy Morgan: Internode tops ISP satisfaction survey

Internode has a history of coming out on top of ISP customer satisfaction surveys, and has just clocked an impressive 94% satisfaction on the latest Roy Morgan Research ISP survey.

Australians would like parental controls on the internet at an ISP level, according to a poll just published, and they'd like it for free, so they can block websites with gambling or adult content from reaching their kids.

Internode on a high with customers

National broadband company Internode seems to have found the formula for keeping its Internet customers happy, with the ISP once again topping an industry survey, this time with a 96 percent customer satisfaction rating, and with rival iiNet the only other ISP with a rating of more than 90 percent.

Washup from Friday's Telstra data breach

We don't yet know why, but we sure know what was breached.  60,000 user accounts containing detailed of their accounts (including passwords) and the services used.  The Privacy Commissioner is investigating.

BigPond Cable upgrade - don't mention the speed

Telstra has just announced plans to upgrade its HFC network in Adelaide, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney and Perth to support download speeds of up to 100Mbps, but oddly it does not seem to be too keen to tell customers about it.

BigPond cable customers in all mainland capitals and the Gold Coast are set to join Melbourne with speed upgrades to their broadband services, with download speeds of up to 100 megabits per second into their homes and for sharing across multiple users.

Telstra debuts online portal for mobile customers

Telstra has introduced an online portal that enables its postpaid mobile customers to track their data usage and spending from their handsets. However it provides no information to users of 'capped' plans on how much of their monthly included call/sms/mms value they have used.

Justin Milne joins Quickflix board

Fresh from the announcement yesterday to take on the customers and inventory of Telstra's BigPond DVD rental business, Quickflix has announced the appointment of the former head of BigPond, Justin Milne as deputy chairman and non-executive director.
