Sales of PON equipment for fibre-to-the-home deployments, cable broadband access equipment, and fixed wireless CPE will increase from 2022 to 2026 at US$23.6 billion ($33.8 billion) as service providers look to expand both reach of their broadband services to customers’ homes as well as the quality of those services within their homes, according to a report by research firm Dell’Oro Group.

According to a newly published report by Dell’Oro Group, a source for market information about the telecommunications, networks, and data centre IT industries, predicts that sales of PON equipment for fibre to the home deployments, cable broadband access equipment, and fixed wireless CPE will all increase from 2021 to 2026, as service providers look to expand both the reach and rate of their fixed broadband services.

NBN Co joins global cable tech group CableLabs

Sorry but HFC must go says Turnbull

Telstra's HFC Bigpond Cable network would unfortunately not survive under a Coalition Federal Government, according to Shadow Broadband Minister Malcolm Turnbull. Well at least that's the inference from his answer to a question from iTWire after his keynote address at the Kickstart conference on the Sunshine Coast today.

BigPond Cable upgrade - don't mention the speed

Telstra has just announced plans to upgrade its HFC network in Adelaide, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney and Perth to support download speeds of up to 100Mbps, but oddly it does not seem to be too keen to tell customers about it.
