Samsung's TV range planned out to 2014

 

It's not quite a 500 year plan as Mitsubishi is supposed to have had, but Samsung's TV people have planned its range of Smart TVs out to 2014, with the company saying its well prepared to take on any forthcoming Apple TV challenge.

LG ditches glasses with new 3D TV line up


2010 was not a fantastic year for manufactures trying to sell you a wiz-bang 3D TV.  It seems many just have not cottoned on to the extra dimension of entertainment offered by paying out large amounts of money to wear embarrassing eye-wear and watch a handful of 3D content.  With its new range, LG is hoping to tackle at least two of these concerns by introducing 2D - 3D content upgrading and throwing away the fancy glasses.

Samsung's new Smart TV: iPad 2 smart?

Samsung's new 'Smart TV' range for 2011 puts a ton of computing smarts into what was once just a basic flat panel, building in as standard what once took a separate PC or advanced set-top box, with even 3D models and glasses very nicely improving over last year's latest and greatest.

Foxtel asks: 'Looking for something to watch on your 3D TV?'. It's an interesting question that both promises something worth watching, while highlighting the dearth of readily available 3D content, although this will be the 3D decade.

46% don't want a 3D Television with glasses

A recent survey has shown that technology manufacturers still have a way to go to win over an audience for 3D electronics.  In particular, the requirement for glasses with 3D tech was seen as a major negative, and then there is a problem with cost and confusion over the hardware requirements.

E310: It's a 3D future for Sony

Sony is looking past its nose into the future of entertainment, and is seeing a 3D generation.  At E3 today the electronics giant unveiled release dates and pricing for the PlayStation Move motion controller as well as software push into the third dimension.  Sony also announced a premium, not free, version of the PlayStation Network.
