PSN and Xbox Live appear to be back up

After a tumultuous Christmas Day 2014 and Boxing Day, both the PSN and Xbox Live services finally appear to be back up and running again.

Kim Dotcom offered the PSN and Xbox Live hackers, Lizard Squad, vouchers to his MegaPrivacy service, which ‘stopped’ the attacks, but there are still issues preventing many from logging in to both services.

Our friendly pie-chart impersonating 80’s icon Pac Man now has a compilation of his eating habits over the years.  Or to put it another way Namco Bandai Games has put together a collection of Pac-Man games over the decades and released it under the moniker Pac-Man Museum.

Welcome back: The PlayStation Store reopens

It has been a long time, but Sony has finally reopened the PlayStation Store following the security breach in April.  It's open, but there are still some problems.

Confusion reigns just days after the restoration of the PlayStation Network after an initial security breach three weeks before hand.  It all looks like another stumble in the attempt to get services back up and running, and certainly seems like Sony has not thought through all the security ramifications of being responsible for customer's personal data.

It stuttered, it blew smoke, it rumbled, it coughed and then last night roared into life.  The PlayStation Network has been resurrected into a, hopefully, more secure form, ready for action.  Sony has now given out the details of its 'Welcome Back' programme with free games and PlayStation Plus subscriptions.

Sony: hacked, thwacked, cracked'¦ again!!!

Oops'¦ Sony's done it again. No longer can the venerable Japanese electronics behemoth simply 'make.believe' its networks are secure, no longer is network security just a final fantasy. In the real world, consequences can be worse!

One Aussie believes he has lost $2000 in the Sony PlayStation Network breach, his credit card apparently compromised.  Is he just the tip of a 75 million plus user iceberg?  Not according to recent information coming out of Sony.

E310: It's a 3D future for Sony

Sony is looking past its nose into the future of entertainment, and is seeing a 3D generation.  At E3 today the electronics giant unveiled release dates and pricing for the PlayStation Move motion controller as well as software push into the third dimension.  Sony also announced a premium, not free, version of the PlayStation Network.
