ACCC approves TPG, iiNet deal

The corporate watchdog, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commisssion (ACCC), has cleared the way for TPG to take over rival telco iiNet, creating a seriously large challenger to Telstra, the dominant player in the market.

iiNet secures Tassie public sector contract

iiNet has been contracted by the Tasmanian Government to deploy Internet access services across the state’s public sector.

The consumer watchdog, the ACCC (Australian Competition and Consumer Commission) says consumers will be better protected from premature disconnection of their phone and Internet services when Telstra migrates its telephone and Internet services to the National Broadband Network (NBN) under a revised plan.

Train services hit by Telstra outage

Telstra customers were not the only ones affected by the outage which hit New South Wales overnight and early this morning, with train commuters in parts of the state suffering delays to services due to the disruption.
