The competition watchdog, the ACCC, has initiated court action against Internet provider Activ8me for allegedly making false or misleading representations over advertising of its broadband services.

Telecommunications retail service provider Australian Private Networks — trading as Activ8me —  has paid a penalty of $12,600 after the competition watchdog, the ACCC issued an infringement notice for alleged false and misleading representations.

Activ8me, the largest services provider to the National Broadband Network Sky Muster satellite, has now connected 20,000 customers to the satellite, doubling the number of connections of just two months ago.
