Telstra is claiming a world-first with the switching on of a precinct of 5G-enabled WiFi hotspots on Australia’s Gold Coast, allowing locals free broadband during evaluation of the technology.

New SD-WAN edge enables more secure architectures

One of my predictions for the wide area network (WAN) in 2018 focuses on how the new WAN edge enables improved security architectures. I believe there are three primary ways in which the new WAN edge will enable improved security architectures for enterprises building an SD-WAN.

Global security company Bitdefender has done a deal to license networking provider NETGEAR to include its IoT security technology in the latter's networking devices.
