Unless Apple pops a Thunderbolt port into the iPad 3 or the iPhone 4G/5, which seems unlikely, it looks like we'll have to wait until at least the end of 2012 or sometime in early 2013 before tablets and smartphones are at least able to offer a mobile version of USB 3.0 connectivity.

Tech.Ed plenary plugs private cloud

Microsoft officials took advantage of a plenary session at the company's Tech.Ed conference to preview some features of Windows Server 8 and System Center 2012.

A beta version of Norton Internet Security 2012 has been available ahead of the product's official release, but Symantec is still adding features. One of the latest is Safe Web for Chrome.

Windows 8: coming late 2012 - and 2011!

The news is out that a blog post on Microsoft's Dutch subsidiary says it will take another two years to get Windows 8 on the market, but that's for the boxed, retail version, as betas have to come out first, and we should see those from 2011!
