COMPANY NEWS: Australia’s award-winning mobile provider, amaysim, is excited to announce the appointment of Vir Inder Nath as its new Vice President. This leadership appointment marks a significant milestone for amaysim as it prepares for expansion into the fixed home category with the launch of amaysim nbn Home Internet in the coming months. This transformative move will elevate amaysim from a mobile-only provider to a full-service telco as it continues to deliver the exceptional value and affordable freedom that millions of Aussies have come to love.
Mobile phone services provider Amayism has paid a penalty of $126,000 and fellow mobile company, Lycamobile, a penalty of $12,600 for alleged false or misleading representations about their mobile phone plans.
Australian technology start-up, Sourse, says it will escalate its enterprise customer acquisition strategy in Australasia and through South-East Asia in 2020 and expand into new industry sectors, following the $15.8 million sale of OVO Mobile’s 77,000 customers to amaysim.
Complaints about services delivered by Australia’s biggest telcos Telstra, Optus and Vodafone continued to fall over the three months to the end of September, according to the latest Complaints in Context report from the Communications Alliance.
The number of complaints about services provided by telecommunications companies rose marginally to 8.7 complaints per 10,000 services in the three months to the end of December 2017, with Telstra, Optus and Vodafone all recording increases.
The data feast for mobile phone users continues to roll on, with TPG partnering with Vodafone to hit the market offering big increases in data allowances with three of its newly released plans on the Vodafone 4G network.
The increasingly competitive push by mobile operators to lure data-hungry consumers with much bigger data allowances has been ramped up by Coles in its latest deal with Optus.
Customer complaints to telcos increased by over 3% in the three months from April to the end of June this year, with Vodafone the best performing of the three major telcos to once again record the lowest number of complaints per 10,000 services in operation.
