QuickTime for Windows patched

Apple has released an updated version of QuickTime for Windows to deliver a number of security fixes. Several of the issues were previously addressed in updates for Mac OS X.

'Our work is done' is the message from the four people behind Perian, a widely used QuickTime add-on that expands the range of media types handled by Mac applications.

With Lion set to debut next month, Apple has released updates for Snow Leopard and Leopard. Mac OS X 10.6.8 could be a prerequisite for Lion.

Mac OS X 10.6.5 arrives

Apple has released the Mac OS X 10.6.5 update, but there's no mention of AirPrint support. There's also a security update for Mac OS X 10.5.8.

The compatibility problems between iTunes 10 and existing Automator actions and AppleScripts for iTunes may be symptomatic of a deeper issue at Apple.
