Australian-listed 5G Networks has sealed a new service agreement with modular data centre operator DXN, to provide business continuity capabilities through 5GN’s Dark Fibre & IP Transit solutions.

 iiNet shareholders have voted overwhelmingly for the company’s $1.6 billion takeover by TPG. It will all be done within six weeks.

iiNet shareholders will meet on 27 July in Perth to decide whether to approve the takeover of the company by rival telco and ISP, TPG.

TPG’s proposed acquisition of iiNet is still subject to a shareholder vote. A majority in favour is not assured, with iiNet’s founder now coming out against the deal.

TPG and iiNet are recommending the transaction which will see TPG buy the other 93.75% of iiNet shares it does not already own, with iiNet shareholders to get $8.60 per share.

The word is - radical head-count cuts at Yahoo, particularly in the International divisions.
