Commonwealth Bank of Australia is beefing its scam prevention, detection, and customer strategy by adding technology initiatives including NameCheck technology for money transfers and new caller verification via the CommBank app.

Commonwealth Bank has implemented access payments technology PayTo to authorise customers’ payments from their accounts digitally.

The CommBank claims to have stolen a march on the industry with the first web site designed to bring together online banking, share trading, property investing and market information under a single portal, together with a community discussion forum.

The Commonwealth Bank has launched an Android version of its Kaching app - launched on iPhone in October 2011 - that allows CommBank account holders to transfer money to friends by specifying only the email address, mobile number or Facebook ID. It has also upgraded the iPhone version.
