Impressions: Dishonored 2 – more tense sneaky action

One of the most revered games of all time was Warren Spector’s Deus Ex. The reason was just how refreshing the approach of a multi-solution game design was among a sea of assault style shooters. That was in 2000; since then many other titles have given players options, and some have been intriguing, such as the original Dishonored, and now we have Dishonored 2.

Yep, those recesses of your brain that indicate you have heard the term Wolfenstein before are gnawing at your consciousness correctly.  Wolfenstein 3D began the First Person Shooter genre (well, popularised it at least) and returns this year in the form of Wolfenstein: The New Order.  Click on through for a video and the news of the inclusion of another shooter franchise resurrection in the form of DOOM with every pre-order.

Quick Hits: Notes from a Dishonored man

Dishonored is a new IP from the same production stable as Skyrim, but the influences here are Deus Ex, Half Life 2 and Thief.  Big influences indeed, but Dishonored manages to be its own beast, at times disquieting, at others tense or frustrating but overall very satisfying.
