A billion dollar discount on Skype?

When the founders of Skype sold it to eBay for a total in excess of US $3 billion everyone thought it was the deal of the decade. Now it seems that might be yet to come if they can buy it back with a billion dollar discount.

In less than five years since its launch Skype has grown to become the world's largest carrier of international voice telephone traffic with Skype-to Skype minutes alone accounting for eight percent of the total.
