Newly-formed Lenovo PCCW starts operations

Lenovo PCCW, a new company formed under the partnership between Lenovo and Hong Kong telecommunications company PCCW, commenced its operations last Monday, 15 August.

US-based Vantage Data Centres, which focuses on multinational corporations like Microsoft and Cisco, is building a campus in Melbourne with three data centres that will total about 270,000 square feet (25,083 square metres) when complete, the company says.

Telstra gets telco licences in Singapore and Japan

End of the road for Telstra/ PCCW JV Reach

Ten years almost to the day since they announced its formation, Telstra and Hong Kong telco, PCCW have announced an agreement to restructure the assets in their 50/50 joint venture, Reach, that will see the JV left with only some Hong Kong based assets. The deal has been reported as netting Telstra a gain of $150m but Telstra has loaned Reach $182m interest free which it has no expectation of recovering.
