UXC wired up with $25 million in new contracts

NBN to pull rank on Ausgrid

NBN Co has confirmed it will use the special powers of the Telecommunications Act to enable it to access Ausgrid’s electricity distribution infrastructure for the NBN roll out, even though it and Ausgrid have failed to come to terms. Ausgrid is not happy.

Top utility gathering in Sydney next week

Ausgrid MD George Maltabarow will deliver the opening keynote at the meeting of some 600 top utility professionals from around Australia and New Zealand in Sydney from Tuesday 8-10 November.

Australia and New Zealand's top utility professionals will meet in Sydney in November to explore new ways to improve reliability, quality and security of water and electricity supply in a cost-efficient and customer-friendly way. This year's Smart Utilities Australia and New Zealand conference and exhibition will particularly focus on smart metering and smart grids developments and feature real life practical insights based on recent trial results and lessons learnt from the region and abroad.

IBM, the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and Ausgrid (formerly EnergyAustralia) have launched an education program in smart grids at UNSW aimed at IT professionals, telecommunications engineers and electrical power engineers
