Qualcomm CEO: 5G phones on shelves in 2019, not 2020

In an interview in Frankfurt, Qualcomm chief executive Steve Mollenkopf said real 5G devices could be expected on retail shelves in 2019, at least a year ahead of schedule.

The industry has set ambitious 5G targets, with various trials in place and to come, and deployments over the next couple of years, but 2020 is the date 5G should truly start rolling out and Intel will be there to make sure it happens.
