First, you need to remember this is an “Elite” – HP’s flagship commercial brand and all that means regarding reliability, quality, and security. The US website is here.
The basic computing unit is barely 35mm high and contains a full Windows 10 Pro, Intel Core i3/5/7 computer, up to 32GB RAM, SSD/HDD, HDMI, Display Port (dual 4K support), Ethernet, 2 x USB 3.0 and 1 x USB-C, and a speaker. It can have a Wireless Charging top cover or Skype for Business top cover with capacitive media keys on top – phone, play, stop, mute, etc.
The ODD unit adds more storage; the B&O Play unit turns it into a speakerphone with 360° sound, bi-directional noise-cancelling, dual array mics and three speakers. It is ideal for a desktop or a medium sized meeting room and is fully Skype for Business Certified. There is also a VESA plate for mounting on the back of a monitor.

I spoke to Mark Fenson, Business and Mobility Systems Evangelist, HP Australia.
“It is the first modular commercial desktop with cable-less connectivity and enables customers to build the desktop of their choice. This desktop changes the way office space is designed by creating streamlined work environments that boost productivity. Versatility, performance, and enterprise-grade security merge to deliver greater productivity and collaboration between employees while transforming the workplace and work styles,” he said.
“And it looks so cool too. Is this the boring HP you remember?” he added.
There is also a version for meeting rooms. This configuration can be combined with the new HP LD5511 55-inch Large Format Display, which features 178-degree viewing angles with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. The high brightness and contrast ratio provide excellent picture quality and readability that is perfect for meeting rooms that seat up to 12 people.
