There's an obvious connection between web hosting and domain registration: if you have a web site, you need a domain name.
So it comes as no surprise that Crucial has chosen to acquire domain registration and hosting business AVS Networks.
AVS customers will be migrated to Crucial's platform this month, which will provide them with better availability and speed, a Crucial spokesperson said.
"Nigel brings a huge amount of capability to the Crucial team, having achieved a great deal in his 17 years at AVS," said Kruizinga.
"His experience will be invaluable to us as we push forward in 2015."
Burke said "Crucial sets an excellent standard for quality Australian hosting, with a similar culture and ethos to AVS.
"The acquisition will benefit AVS customers with added resources, fantastic support and high performance infrastructure - it's a win-win."
