Daiwabo secures Japan distribution agreement with Versa Networks

Japanese IT prodcts distributor Daiwabo Information System and US cloud access integration and security (SASE) provider Versa Networks have begun collaborating on the domestic sales of a comprehensive solution with powerful functions related to networking, cloud access integration, and security (SASE) provided by Versa.

SASE, is a cloud-based IT model that bundles software-defined networking with network security functions and delivers them from a single service provider.

Daiwabo (DIS) says the market is significantly affected by COVID-19, and the trend of digitalisation is accelerating, and as a result, cloud adoption is growing in various fields to improve infrastructure availability.

“On the other hand, this is overshadowed by the ongoing reliance on legacy network hardware and complex, static WAN architecture introduced in the past. Networks with centralised security gateways create traffic bottlenecks. It is important to configure a new network that adopts a cloud-type gateway and move to a network that efficiently distributes and offloads.”

To address these challenges, Versa integrates cloud and on-premise security, networking, and analytics within a single software operating system (Versa Operating System or VOS), and combines this with a single-path parallel processing architecture to improve performance, at the same time strengthening security, eliminating complexity, and increasing visibility of the entire network.

Under the collaboration, DIS will start handling VOS, which provides all functions, and Versa TITAN, which is simplified for small and medium-sized companies by limiting some functions.

For Versa TITAN, a product for these companies, DIS has contracted the only exclusive distributor in Japan.

DIS delivers the solutions provided by Versa to users nationwide through approximately 19,000 sales partners with a community-based sales system by a sales network of over 90 bases nationwide.
