GME launches latest 'maritime safety innovation' Featured

By Gordon Peters

Australian manufacturer of communication and safety technology, GME, has launched its latest "maritime safety innovation" — the MT605G EPIRB.

GME says the advanced EPIRB is equipped with a GNSS receiver (Global Navigation Satellite System) for greater position accuracy, and an IR (infrared) strobe light for improved SAR visibility.

Featuring a 121.5MHz homing signal, the MT605G is approved for worldwide COSPAS-SARSAT operation, providing reliable distress alerting and location services globally. Coupled with 10-year battery life, the MT605G EPIRB offers long-lasting performance and peace of mind for Mariners.

“As a coastal nation, Aussies love their time on the water. 3.5 million of us enjoy spending time boating every year, often in areas without mobile phone coverage. This is why having the right safety gear on the water is so important – it can be the defining factor in a rescue situation where every second counts,” comments GME Safety Expert, Tony Crooke.

“The MT605G is a game-changing new product for any Aussie looking to spend time on the water. It’s reliable, rugged, and packed with the kind of tech that gives you peace of mind when you need it most.”

GME notes that it has a longstanding history in the emergency beacon industry, having produced its first EPIRB in 1979.

“The MT605G is the latest innovation in GME’s emergency beacon portfolio, delivering advanced safety features and reliable performance to ensure the protection of crews and vessels in emergency distress situations.
