The Australian Communication and Media Authority has decided to approve new timeframes for switching phone number porters (porting) between telco providers, which means majority of Australian organisations will only need 15 working days rather than up to five months to switch providers while retaining numbers—a decision welcomed by telco alliance Commpete.
