DGtek, an independent provider of ultra fast, full-fibre broadband internet services, has announced it will be acquiring the consumer infrastructure business of Spirit Technology Solution (“Spirit”), an ASX-listed telecommunications company.

DGtek, an independent provider of ultra fast, full fibre broadband services and an alternative to NBN, has raised more than $7m, in a Series A round, to further expand its network reach across Australia.

Telecommunications infrastructure carrier DGtek has acquired FG Telecom. The acquisition will expand DGtek’s network coverage by over 25% in Melbourne, and will provide triple geography redundancy and diverse paths to Port Melbourne’s data centres.

Australian-listed Internet service provider Spirit Telecom has launched its NBN Enterprise Ethernet (NBN EE) range to resellers and direct customers via its proprietary Spirit X digital sales platform.

Following an investment by Treia Capital, wholesale fibre broadband operator DGtek has expanded its coverage area more than tenfold in the last six months.
