AVG releases free link scanner download

AVG reckons on any given day around the world something like two million web pages are poisoned by hidden threats, and the security firm has just released a free link scanner download which it says will protect Internet users against these “random, invisible online threats”.
Security warnings about the impending Conficker worm attacks on computers around the globe have been with us for a while now, and as iTWire reported just a few days ago, while the predicted apocalypse didn’t engulf the world after all, the worm’s still out there.  But, be warned, we’re now in the midst of a new security threat of large-scale proportions, according to Kapersky!
So-called drive-by download components dominated the latest security threats to our computers during February as cybercriminals attempted to compromise the security of users’ systems.
