NodeOne supplies internet to rural Mount Magnet

Swoop subsidiary and internet provider NodeOne has erected a tower in Mount Magnet to deliver fast internet to the underserved area.

Mount Magnet is a remote mining town in Western Australia, 340km from Geraldton. It currently runs on NBN satellite services.

NodeOne is eyeing to supply fast internet with a newly-built tower in the town.

The tower, which went live last 1 October, provides 1Gbps wavelength into the shire library office.

“It’s amazing to see this sort of infrastructure being introduced into a rural community like Mount Magnet. It is such a beautiful part of the world, and bringing this sort of internet speed offers the shire an opportunity to be connected with the rest of the world in a way we’ve never been able to before,” said Shire of Mount Magnet CEO Tralee Cable.

“We believe that all corners of the country should have the same opportunity to be connected to fast and reliable internet. We strive to be the team that delivers that to these areas and I am so proud to be delivering it here in Mount Magnet,” said Swoop chief technology officer Tom Berryman.
