Current AMTA CEO Chris Althaus announced in late November that he would be stepping down from role over what spans 16 years and the 3G, 4G, 5G, Wi-Fi, IoT, mobile broadband and telecomminications revolutions.
In mid-December, Chris joined me for an iTWire TV interview for a chat about the industry's past, present and future, as well as his own.

Now, in early February 2021, Dan Lloyd, the Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association (AMTA) Chair said: “With the mobile sector continuing to play key role in our economy and society, AMTA has a broad and important agenda in representing the mobile industry - working with members and a diverse network of stakeholders to maximise the opportunities and impacts enabled by mobile technologies, applications, and services.
“After 16 years in the role spanning 3 generations of mobile, Chris Althaus leaves AMTA well positioned at a time where the 4G/5G ecosystem is responding to increasing demand for data driven solutions to support enhanced productivity and connectivity outcomes for customers at all levels including industries with industry 4.0 agendas.
“Chris’s legacy and departure creates an exciting opportunity for a new CEO at a time when the dynamics of the mobile industry are typically as compelling as ever.
“AMTA has engaged Rebecca Wallace at Launch to lead the process for this important industry leadership position," Lloyd concluded.
