Tibco Labs bears fruit

Announced last September, Tibco Labs is the software company's mechanism for collaborative research and development with its customers and partners. 

At the Tibco Now 2019 conference held in Singapore this week, Tibco chief marketing officer Nelson Petracek announced that 25 customers have participated in the first six months, and five projects have been completed and the results released to the community via Tibco Cloud or GitHub.

The co-innovation program has completed five projects in six months.

Areas of interest include blockchain, AI/ML, IoT, VR and AR.

Specific examples include:

  • Project Dovetail, which applies parts of Tibco' Flogo product to allow a model-driven approach to smart contracts.
  • The addition of blockchain support to increase the transparency of a provenance system.
  • The application of Tibco Graph Database and Tibco Cloud Conversations to improve performance and interactivity in a situation involving highly connected data.
  • Project Discover, an approach to identifying exceptions in business processes without having to model the entire system.
