2024 was a breakthrough year for AI, both globally and here in Australia. Contributions to public generative AI projects on GitHub in Australia surged by 65% in 2024, signalling a promising trajectory for the nation’s productivity and economic growth. We saw businesses transition from experimenting with AI to adopting and implementing it, unlocking the benefits of enhanced productivity, competitiveness, and growth. As we enter 2025, here are my AI predictions and the key opportunities for Australia to accelerate its AI journey.
