According to Kellett, there has been strong demand for the extreme SHDSL service and “sales have accelerated” in the eight months since it was launched in April this year, and he claimed there had been “strong demand from specific industry segments beyond the information technology sector.”
“For example we have law firms using Extreme SHDSL for IP videoconferencing to share expertise between offices, construction firms who need to move large CAD files and medical practices using high-speed symmetrical broadband for diagnostic imaging.”
Kellett says the high level of demand has justified extending the reach of the extreme SHDSL which delivers both downstream and upstream Internet access at guaranteed speeds from five to 40 Mbps.
“The fully-symmetrical broadband service has appealed strongly to businesses that have outgrown the uplink capacity of their ADSL2+ Internet connection, but find optical fibre Ethernet alternatives too expensive.

“Extreme SHDSL provides high-speed two-way Internet access that is increasingly important for businesses which adopt next generation applications such as IP telephony, Internet Virtual Private Networks, onsite web services and IP videoconferencing.”

As well as doubling the download quota of its standard Extreme SHDSL plan, Kellets says Internode’s special waives a $2000 installation charge for customers who sign up for a 24-month term.
Only last week, Internode announced it had topped a customer satisfaction poll of 43 ISPs by consumer advocacy organisation, Choice, as well as topping the recent AFR Smart Investor SMILES customer satisfaction survey, and being named by global research group, Frost & Sullivan, as the emerging broadband service provider of the year for its 2009 Australia best practices awards.
