Gone but not forgotten part one - VAX/VMS

Like anyone who has been in IT for a reasonable length of time I've worked with technologies that have lapsed, been superseded, died off or just simply gone out of vogue. Yet there are some my heart yearns to see again.

Foxtel goes online with Warner Bros in tow

There are big moves happening at cable TV provider Foxtel. In order to stay afloat against increasing competition, Foxtel have announced a new online facility featuring a facility for remote programming your Foxtel IQ or IQ2.  The provider has also expanded their Video On Demand service, expect to see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button on the same day as the DVD and Blu-Ray release.

The seventh platform for video gaming

Digital Distribution of software is obviously here to stay; but only in recent times has the world of mobile gaming got a DD shot in the arm with services such as the iTunes Apps Store and the Nokia N-gage game software system.  With the iPhone and other powerful handsets hitting the market, any wonder then that game developers are seeing the seventh platform as a lucrative venture?

New York Governor seeks iPod tax
