Uncertainty on deployment of Windows 7 for CIOs, IT managers
Australian CIOs and IT managers remain uncertain about deployment strategies, application support, and the impact on end users from deploying Windows 7, although a recent survey found that they do now have a clear understanding of the features and benefits of it.

Broadband, smartphones drive business mobile market growth
Australian businesses are seemingly brushing aside the economic woes of the current downturn and increasingly spending money on mobile services - particularly mobile broadband and smartphones - with total spending in the market predicted to grow to $6.5 billion by the end of this year.

Apple wisdom ignored by Windows 7 sextuplets
Thought that Windows 7 would avoid the complicated marketing mess that was Vista by coming in an easy to understand single version like OS X? Think again, Microsoft has confirmed no less than six versions of the new operating system.

Linux Hater's Redux... dead? Long live... Oiaohm?!
First the Linux Hater’s blog ended, and now there’s a claim that the
Linux Hater’s Redux has gone to the great kernel panic in the sky. Now
a mysteriously named person called “Oiaohm” is trying to re-incarnate
some of the hate in a new “battle ground” but his sights aren’t set on
Linux alone.

Opinion: why Linux sucks at being user friendly
Forget the OS wars, Apple and Microsoft do not need to wield any weapons today. Linux seems to be doing a good enough job of shooting itself in the foot when it comes to appealing to your average PC user.

10 reasons to stick with Vista and forget Linux
Windows Vista is in the news again, thanks to the incomprehensible
start to the new campaign featuring Gates and Seinfeld, but also
because of the growing threat to Windows Vista posed by different
flavours of Linux, XP and Mac OS X. But none of those things stop Vista
from being Microsoft’s best OS yet.
