How Apple shrank the SIM

The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) has standardised a new SIM card format proposed by Apple that is even smaller than the current micro sim.

A handful of the world's major standards development organisations - ARIB, ATIS, CCSA, ETSI, TIA, TTA and TTC - have announced plans to form a global initiative for m2m standardisation.

Honey I shrunk the SIM!

Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) has unveiled what it claims to be the world's smallest SIM card, the first nano-SIM, two thirds the size of the micro-SIM.

The Future Internet will be an extremely complex world of numerous interconnected devices and services and with users already bemused by a bewildering array of connections, usernames and passwords a radically different approach will be needed.
