Telecommunications company Optus extends its Donate Your Data program – Donate Your Device, inviting customers to donate their unused phones to people are in need.
Since Optus launched its Donate Your Data program in late 2019, the telco has received over 3 million donations from customers to date, which has enabled thousands of young Australians in need to access the internet and connect them to opportunities to learn, look for work, and continue with vital services such as telehealth.
Australia’s second largest telco Optus has suffered an operating revenue decline of 2% to A$8,954 million for the full year to the end of March, despite higher NBN migration revenue offsetting lower equipment and service revenues.
Optus is undertaking a ‘Donate Your Data’ initiative in partnership with its customers to donate data to young Australians living in poverty.
