Arlo Technologies Australia has finally announced its latest security camera innovation, its all-new Arlo Pro 5 2K Security Camera, which is now available to purchase in Australia for AUD $329.

The latest addition to the award-winning Pro series. the Arlo Pro 5 2K Security Camera, operates off Dual-Band Wi-Fi support, with 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz connections allowing users to enjoy faster video loading, and less buffering, so they can see what is happening faster - not that the existing models are slouches.

Of particular note is the promised "significant battery life improvements," with the Pro 5 offer 30% longer battery life than the Arlo Pro 4 Security Camera, although with my Arlo cameras I have purchased the separately available solar power panels to charge my Arlo units whenever the sun shines, and since I've installed those, I've not needed to reach up for a camera to remove its battery for charging - ever!

Bradley Little, Arlo's VP of Sales in the APAC region said: “The Arlo Pro 5 is one of the most secure and reliable security cameras Arlo has engineered to date. Integrating three wireless technologies into one extremely compact form factor ensures users are better equipped to ‘protect their everything’.

"Supporting the overall Pro 5 experience, is the intuitive Arlo Secure app that ensures frictionless access to the most comprehensive monitoring tools available."

I also take advantage of the Arlo Secure subscription, which does cost extra per month but now supports an unlimited number of extra Arlo cameras rather than the previous 5 camera limit.

This service lets "users take their security to the next level with time-saving automations that can be programmed to trigger events such as geo-fencing, mode changes, schedules, alarms and more."

So, what are the powerful advancements in this all-new model? Arlo's description of them is as follows:
