"The scope of services include fixed and mobile voice and data carriage, Optus Evolve network connectivity for 67 Sydney Water sites, local and wide area network management, in-bound voice services to support contact centres, and service management and maintenance," Optus said. "The contract consolidates the delivery of telecommunication services to Sydney Water from a multi-supplier to single supplier model."
ZDNet reported last August that Sydney Water had issued an RFT for a single supplier to replace services provided under 16 contracts with seven different suppliers, and that these contracts had been extended until March 2011 while it completed the selection process.
Optus will supply:

- fixed services: connectivity across 67 sites via Optus Evolve IP VPN, Optus Evolve Internet and Optus Evolve Ethernet WAN; fixed telephony via Optus Voice; in-bound voice services to support contact centres, including network interactive voice response and intelligent call routing;
- managed services: management of WAN, LAN and contact centre services; hardware maintenance for WAN, LAN Voice and contact centre; onsite management and operational resources.
