Challenger bank MyLife MyFinance gets digital overhaul with Temenos Featured


Australian challenger bank, MyLife MyFinance, has completed a full digital overhaul of its banking infrastructure, going live with Temenos’ cloud and digital banking platform.

The front-to-back transformation was completed 100% remotely during COVID-19 and will enable MyLife MyFinance – owned by Challenger Limited – to provide a much more personal approach to banking, as a genuine alternative to the big four.

Challenger Limited - an investment management firm - recently entered into an agreement to acquire MyLife MyFinance from Catholic Super, with the acquisition currently subject to approval by the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) and the Federal Treasury.

MLMF says the digital transformation by banking software provider Temenos will enable it to:

  • Achieve straight-through processing for 90% of new customers
  • Streamline the loan application process, reducing loan document preparation time from 60 minutes to 5 minutes
  • Benefit from secure, scalable technology with built-in compliance with Australian regulations, including an open banking ecosystem to enhance services like customer verification, digital wallets and fraud monitoring, to deliver a differentiated customer experience.

Using Temenos Country Model Bank methodology, the new front-to-back system simplifies processes, enhances the customer experience, and replaces legacy systems.

Temenos says that as a result of the build-and-migrate implementation, MyLife MyFinance has reduced complexity by moving to one central core banking system to store and run all of its processes and data, Temenos Transact - and combined with Temenos Infinity and Temenos Analytics, the end-to-end solution, “increases automation and straight through processing (STP), completing conditional decisions for 90% of applications”.

Temenos says the project was completed using a phased approach, supported by Syncordis.
