MobileMuster is a voluntary product stewardship program managed by AMTA, which will mark its 25th year of operation in 2023.
Kalos has played a pivotal role in building the program. He was responsible for its reputation and participation over the last 13 years including leading its expansion in 2022 to include three new growing e-waste product streams.
“This decision has certainly not been easy, but I leave AMTA extremely proud of the growth and success of the MobileMuster program over the last 13 years, and the role it continues to play in significantly reducing e-waste in Australia and positively impacting the environment,” Kalos said.

AMTA CEO Louise Hyland paid tribute to his contribution to the organisation and industry.
“Spyro has been instrumental in the success of the MobileMuster program over the course of his time with AMTA, and I thank him for his efforts in driving strong and dedicated engagement from industry and consumers alike.”
"His commitment to AMTA and the industry over many years has been invaluable, building trust in MobileMuster amongst all stakeholders, and growing the program during his time at the helm to become what is, today, the leading government-accredited voluntary product stewardship program in Australia, with significant buy-in from the industry and increased recycling since its inception,” Hyland said.
“Spyro leaves MobileMuster in a strong position and we are grateful for his substantial contribution to the industry’s sustainability efforts. We wish him well for the future.”
