Back-up and archive specialist Commvault has appointed 20-year industry veteran Kaaren Lewis to lead its channel and distribution efforts across Australia and New Zealand.

Lewis, who spent time at Hewlett Packard, Dell and IBM, will be charged with accelerating the growth of Commvault’s channel strategy, enhancing local operations, driving partnerships and further enabling partners across key industries.

Dan Kieran, Commvault's vice-president and managing director for Australia and New Zealand, said: “The value of data has quickly evolved to become the heartbeat of modern business. Very quickly, customers have identified the need for clarity and control over their data – this is where Commvault creates value. But we cannot do it alone.

“Our business relies strongly on the channel. It is vital that we have the best team and resources to support and enable our local partners. With Kaaren’s depth of experience, industry knowledge and passion for our business, we are ready to take our channel operations to the next level to support our channel and customer base.”

“Commvault’s unique approach and business is phenomenal – the market is calling for a holistic approach to data management and I’ve got the keys to driving its adoption across the ANZ channel,” Lewis says.

“I am thrilled to be joining Commvault, and already feel totally aligned with the organisation and the team and cannot wait to be part of the journey. I look forward to enabling further growth, and increased collaboration with the channel, as part of my new role.”

Kieran says that for six years running, Commvault has been recognised by Gartner as the leader in data centre back-up and recovery software.

“This accolade validates Commvault’s strategy to help companies manage and protect their data, adopting the right technologies and strategies for their business. Lewis will be responsible for driving this technology within the channel, working closely with Commvault’s ecosystem of resellers, service providers and distributors to build go-to-market strategies to better serve the end-customer.”
