"Since Graeme took the helm of the Australia and New Zealand business nearly 18 months ago, Fujitsu's operations in Australia and New Zealand have continued to grow from strength to strength," said Fujitsu COO, chief data protection officer and head of international regions Hidenori Furuta.

"He's a driving force for change in our organisation and we are thrilled to welcome Graeme to the Asia Pacific leadership team. I am sure his previous experience in Asia will bring benefits to his new role."

Beardsell retains his role as the company's ANZ CEO, which he has held since joining Fujitsu in 2020.

His CV includes six years at Akamai (most recently as APJ vice president and managing director) as well as a swag of other senior regional roles, such as APAC senior vice president and general manager at Solace Systems, APAC vice president of sales and marketing at Experian, APAC managing director at Misys, and Asia regional vice president at Salesforce.

Earlier in his career, Beardsell spent 15 years with IBM, culminating in the role of APAC vice president of telecom solutions services.

He studied business and economics at RMIT University.

"I am honoured to have been entrusted by the global leadership team to take on the role of executive vice president and CEO for Asia Pacific," said Beardsell.

"I look forward to translating the learnings and successes we have seen in the Australia and New Zealand market into actionable insights for the region and to continuing to deliver the best outcomes that help our customers to help their customers."
