The double data offer is only available on select plans - customers on the Virgin Mobile $60 and Virgin Mobile $90 plans, as well as their BYO equivalents (which cost $10 less per month).
Virgin said the data offer will continue through the life of the contract, be it 12- or 24-months, and is not for existing customers; just newbies.
The limited offer means Virgin's $60 plan with 1.5GB of data and the $90 plan with 3GB of data become 3GB and 6GB respectively.
As we reported earlier this month Vodafone have done essentially the same thing, though that offer lasts until 31 January as opposed to Virgin's which is the 13th.

“Our customers have always been particularly active online, and we know apps are now an integral part of our customers’ everyday lives, Director of Virgin Mobile Proposition & Strategy, Derek Cummins, said in a press release.
"In line with this, and our promise to give more, we’re thrilled to be offering our customers theopportunity to enjoy more data on selected plans for the upcoming months with our double data deal.”
