Otterbox - funny name, great case

By

Otterbox have released a range of cases for the new Samsung Galaxy S6 and Edge that complement its coverage for iPhone, Motorola, LG, HTC, BlackBerry, Sony and more.

The S6 cases (flat screen version) come in Defender ($69.95, 3 layer - pretty well indestructible), Commuter ($49.95, 2 layer every day protection) and Symmetry ($49.95, 1 layer for drop and scratch protection). See end of article for a summary of features.

The S6 Edge (curved screen edges) comes only in the Symmetry series.

Otterbox also makes Alpha Glass screen protectors.

I admit to using these excellent cases but I have to be clear – they are not generally fashion statements like the cheap and colourful knock-offs you can get from markets. Defender and Commuter do come in a range of shell colours including purple, black, white, teal, red, blue and grey. Not all colours make it to Australia so do not be afraid to order on line.

Other reviews say that all cases work with the wireless charging feature of the S6/Edge and the Defender and Commuter will withstand an accidental dunk.

In Australia, the cases are available online from MobileZap or at retailers including Dick Smith and Officeworks.
