Sam Varghese has been writing for iTWire since 2006, a year after the site came into existence. The Snatch ransomware, that attacks Windows systems, appears to have incorporated a new trick into its routine by rebooting PCs into safe mode before beginning the encryption of files on an infected system, the security firm Sophos claims.

The security firm Emsisoft has warned anyone hit by the Ryuk ransomware that the decryption tool supplied by the malicious attackers behind Ryuk may no longer be able to decrypt files that have been encrypted.

Singapore e-scooter provider Neuron Mobility has attracted investment of US$18.5 million from Australian venture capital firm Square Peg and US cross-border fund GSR Ventures. Existing investors Seedplus and SEEDS Capital also contributed.
