East coast gas supply sufficient for 2025 but ‘concerns remain’ for longer-term
Australia’s east coast gas market is forecast to have a surplus of between 69 and 110 petajoules in 2025 if Queensland’s LNG producers export all of their uncontracted gas, the ACCC’s latest gas inquiry report shows.

ACCC chief Sims critical of gas industry, calls for ‘greater effort’, stronger measures to overcome high gas prices
Australia’s competition watchdog the ACCC has called for stronger measures to be taken to keep high gas prices in check, saying there is a need to ensure businesses and households are not paying more for gas than would be expected in a well-functioning market.
