ACCC issues warning on COVID-19 scams

Scammers in Australia are adapting existing technology to play on people’s fears around coronavirus and selling products claiming to prevent or cure the virus, according to consumer watchdog the ACCC.

Tobacco industry called "mutant virus"

A World Health Organization official calls the tobacco industry a "mutant virus" because of efforts initiated by the tobacco industry to entice women in poor countries to smoke cigarettes. This is all part of World No Tobacco Day on May 31, 2010.

WHO says H1N1 is with us for another year

The leader of the World Health Organization (WHO) stated on Tuesday, December 29, 2009, that the pandemic called H1N1 influenza (flu) virus will likely remain a major health problem into 2011.
