Microsoft to end support for Windows XP SP2

Microsoft's support for XP is winding down with users being encouraged to move to Service Pack 3 or, better yet, Windows 7. Support officially ends on 13 July 2010.

October Patch Tuesday is biggest ever

As expected, Microsoft released 13 new security bulletins overnight (Australian time). A mammoth 34 vulnerabilities are addressed, including some affecting Windows 7.

Last week Microsoft released Disk2VHD, a utility produced by its Sysinternals acquisition to convert a physical Windows hard disk into a Virtual PC disk image.
