Danes to go the ODF route

Denmark has announced that it will stop using some Microsoft document formats and move to the open document format (ODF) in April next year.

Zoho adds support for Microsoft DOCX

Online office applications provider, Zoho, has added support for DOCX, the Microsoft Open Office XML format for Microsoft Office Word 2007 and says it intends to support all Office 2007 XML-based file formats. The move will make the software-as-a-service more attractive to the enterprise market.

OOXML: the propaganda war has begun

Last week, following a radio discussion, linux.com writer Bruce Byfield characterised two opposing FOSS camps in the OOXML debate who participated in that discussion as being "closer than they have appeared in the past."
