NEC rolls out Nextep DSLAM network over rural backhaul blackspot links
NEC is upgrading and expanding its Nextep DSLAM and associated MPLS network in areas served by the Regional Backhaul Blackspot program to deliver higher speeds, lower contention ratios and support for triple play and cloud services.

NEC's Nextep offers "unlimited" 3G connectivity for private networks
NEC's broadband subsidiary Nextep has become the latest wholesale customer of Optus' 3G wireless broadband service and will use it to provide end users, via channel partners, with wireless access to its private network services.

NEC aims to get 70 percent of revenue from services
NEC Australia is aiming to grow its service revenues from 50 percent to 70 percent of total business earnings in the next five years, following an announcement last month of a restructure to focus on services, unified communications and display solutions.
