Telco Singtel Optus has set aside $140 million for costs associated with the catastrophic breach it announced in September, with the company announcing this as part of its half-year results on Thursday.
Optus has seen a 20% fall in profits year-on-year for the first half of its 2018 fiscal year, with Australia's second biggest telco reporting $259 million in net profit for the period against $325 million for the first half a year ago.
The Macquarie Telecom Group has increased its revenue by 7% for the half-year which ended on 31 December 2017 and also seen a rise in net profit after tax.
