How did Aussie IT departments fare during the COVID-19 crisis? It depends who you ask.

Despite many well-publicised glitches, as COVID-19 hit, Australian business continuity plans largely worked well, according to a survey of 197 local organisations.

With wave after wave of disruptive technology washing over the bow of every organisation, the need for good IT captains is greater than ever.  At the same time, the role of the CIO is increasingly disintermediated from the business, with surveys showing less and less CIOs reporting directly to the CEO. 

So how can IT ensure that it takes the lead in transforming the business and not find itself sidelined?

Embattled social media platform, Kik, has found reprieve with a new owner announced in a post on Kik.com.

The Kik Messenger social media platform, used by some 300 million people, is due to close down on 19 October, 2019.
